Back Story

Fortunately, Simatos inscribed "Dorothea Herrscher" on the verso of this Glamour Girl portrait. It was a lucky find for Reiter's research. He learned this lovely woman was Mrs. Edmond E. Herrscher. The couple's Beverly Hills home was featured on the cover of Architectural Digest in 1953 (Vol. XIV, No.1). That same year Dorothea appeared on the cover of Motor Trend magazine, standing next to her highly acclaimed (and now rare) Fiat 1400 Vignale. Her husband, Edmond E. Herrscher, was an attorney known as “the father of Century City” for his central role in its development.
